Bangladesh pacer Ebadot Hossain is set to rejoin competitive cricket after a 14-month hiatus, appearing for Sylhet Division in the National Cricket League's fourth round. This return, following an ACL injury sustained in July 2023 during the ODI series against Afghanistan, brings hope to both the Sylhet Division team and Fortune Barishal, who selected Ebadot for the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) starting December 30. According to Bangladesh Cricket Board’s (BCB) chief physician Debashish Chowdhury, Ebadot’s participation in the November 9 match against Khulna Division will be closely monitored to ensure his ongoing recovery and rhythm.
"This comeback is a critical part of Ebadot’s rehabilitation," Chowdhury told Cricbuzz, emphasizing that Ebadot may have certain bowling limitations while reconditioning. "If he feels fine after bowling, that’s excellent, but otherwise, he has time to prepare fully ahead of the BPL.”
Ebadot has been undergoing rehabilitation under the supervision of BCB and was sent to India to work closely with the team management. His performance will be closely analyzed as he takes on opponents in the NCL, aiming to re-establish his form for the competitive season.
