Content:Chamindu Wickramasinghe has earned his maiden call-up to Sri Lanka's ODI squad for the upcoming three-match series against West Indies. The uncapped all-rounder will be part of a lineup that also welcomes back Dilshan Madushanka, who missed the previous series against India due to a hamstring injury. Mohamed Shiraz, who debuted during the India series, retains his place in the squad.
Sri Lanka's squad sees the return of key player Wanindu Hasaranga, who had been sidelined with a hamstring injury during the India ODIs. However, notable absentees include all-rounder Chamika Karunaratne and spinner Akila Dananjaya, who have been dropped, as well as Matheesha Pathirana, who continues to recover from a shoulder injury.
The ODIs will be played at Pallekele, starting on October 20, with subsequent matches on October 23 and 26. Sri Lanka, buoyed by their 2-1 T20I series win against the West Indies, will look to carry their momentum into the 50-over format. The series provides another opportunity to assess emerging talent, with Nishan Madushka included once again after missing out on a game during the India series.
