The Men’s ICC CWCL2 series involving Scotland, Namibia, and Oman, initially set for May 2-12 at Forfarshire CC, has been rescheduled to take place from July 16-26 at the same venue due to adverse weather conditions, announced Cricket Scotland on Wednesday.
Cricket Scotland stated that the decision to postpone the series was made after consultations and agreements among the three participating nations and the ICC. The recent adverse weather severely impacted the preparation of pitches and overall ground infrastructure at Forthill, necessitating the rescheduling.
The T20I match between Scotland and Oman, originally slated for May 14 at the same venue, has been canceled and will not be rescheduled. Details regarding ticketing for the rescheduled CWCL2 fixtures will be provided later.
Expressing disappointment over the cancellation, Paul Macari, Head of Operations and Commercial at Cricket Scotland, acknowledged the challenges posed by the extreme weather conditions. He thanked Forfarshire CC, the ICC, Namibia, and Oman for their understanding and cooperation in rescheduling the series.
The revised schedule for the CWCL2 series is as follows:
July 16: Scotland vs Oman
July 18: Oman vs Namibia
July 20: Scotland vs Namibia
July 22: Scotland vs Oman
July 24: Oman vs Namibia
July 26: Scotland vs Namibia
